Today’s guest is Curtis Arledge, Chairman and CEO of Mariner Investment Group, a $10 billion multi-strategy fund based in New York. He started his career studying lasers at Princeton before finding himself at the epicenter of the mortgage-backed securities boom at Salomon Brothers. He was an early employee of BlackRock and served as CEO of BNY Mellon’s investment management arm. Curtis Arledge is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Mariner Investment Group and a member of the Firm’s Management and Risk Committees. A founding member of Mariner, Mr. Arledge returned to the Firm in 2019 and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the business and developing new business lines. Mr. Arledge previously served as the CEO of BNY Mellon Investment Management and was also responsible for the firm’s Markets Group. Prior to BNY Mellon, he was the chief investment officer for fundamental fixed income portfolios at BlackRock, Inc. Mr. Arledge also worked as senior research associate with the Forum for Growth & Innovation at Harvard Business School. A graduate of Princeton University with a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Mr. Arledge is an Advisory Council member at Princeton’s Bendheim Center for Finance. He previously served as Vice Chairman of the U.S. Treasury Borrowing Advisory Committee and was inducted into the Fixed Income Analysts Society Hall of Fame in 2014. Mr. Arledge is a senior independent non-executive Director of Soter Holdings Limited, parent company to Soter Insurance Limited, a provider of specialized insurance products tailored to the digital asset economy, as well as a member of the Advisory Board for NEWITY, an SBA Lender for small businesses.

Joe Reilly is the founder of Circulus Group, a network for family offices. He also hosts the Private Capital Podcast and The Inheritance Podcast. He was the co-founder and founding president of the Family Office Association, a global forum for single-family offices based in Greenwich, Connecticut. Previously Mr. Reilly helped to start a single-family office and foundation in New York where he was an investment manager and allocator. He was an energy specialist focused on options and futures trading at Crédit Agricole Indosuez in New York before that and started his career at Salomon Smith Barney.
Daniel DeWolf is a leading authority on growth companies and venture capital law — and has worked on pioneering online capital-raising methods since the Internet’s beginning. He is immersed in the national and international ecosystem of emerging companies and investors focused on start-ups. He has also been a member of NYU Law School’s faculty since 2003, where he teaches venture capital law. Earlier, he co-founded and served as managing director of an early stage venture capital firm based in New York City.
Daniel is Chair of Mintz’s Technology Practice Group and Co-chair of the firm’s Venture Capital & Emerging Companies Practice Group. In addition to his active legal practice, he is an adjunct professor of law at the NYU Law School. Daniel is also Editor of MintzEdge, an online resource for entrepreneurs that includes useful tools and information for starting and growing a company.
Before joining Mintz, Daniel was head of venture capital funds and a managing director of SoundView Technology Group, Inc. (formerly Wit Capital), a technology-focused investment bank. Prior to joining SoundView, he was head of the corporate and new media and e-law practice groups at one of the leading New York firms representing early stage and technology companies.
Daniel has more than 35 years of corporate transactional experience, both as a lawyer and as a businessman, and has been an advisor to many emerging and developmental stage companies. He is a board member of several technology companies and was a co-founder and Managing Director of Dawntreader Ventures, an early stage venture capital firm.
Additionally, Daniel is an author of a leading treatise on venture capital called Venture Capital: Forms and Analysis (Law Journal Press, 2007).

Deirdre Bolton is a Partner and the Head of Executive Development at Prosek Partners where she works exclusively with CEOs, Founders and other C-Suite executives to perfect their communications skills and ensure they are best equipped to handle a wide range of high-stakes situations including media interactions, keynote speeches, analyst presentations, panel appearances and any other speaking opportunities that necessitate clear and effective communications.
Ms. Bolton is an accomplished journalist and TV anchor who draws on her years of experience working at ABC News, Fox Business Network and Bloomberg TV. She is known for being able to distill complex financial concepts into easily understandable ideas.
Most recently at ABC News, Ms. Bolton covered the global economic consequences of the pandemic and the land war in Europe for “World News Tonight,” “Good Morning America,” “Nightline” and “GMA-3.”
Throughout her TV career, she has reported on numerous events that have shaped our era, including extensive reporting on the 2007-2008 financial crisis. She also launched the show “Money Moves with Deirdre Bolton” at Bloomberg TV (which focused on capital moving out of stocks and bonds and into alternative assets).
Ms. Bolton began her career as an institutional equity sales trader on Wall Street prior to working in business television.
Sidney Ahl is a partner, a member of the Executive Team, serves as co-chief investment officer for private client, endowments and foundations at Brown Advisory. He is responsible for advising individuals and institutions on investment portfolios that contain significant allocations to alternative investments and have a high tolerance for less liquid investments. Prior to joining Brown Advisory in 2012, he was a partner and director of research at CDK for 10 years, where his initial focus was on hedge fund manager research and the design of hedge fund portfolios. Prior to CDK he was a senior consultant with FactSet Research, advising hedge funds, institutional investors and private wealth managers in the areas of portfolio risk management and quantitative modeling. He was educated at Cornell University.
Rebecca Babin is a Senior Trader for the APEI fund at CIBC Private Wealth in New York, where she provides commodity expertise across energy markets for the firm’s Energy Infrastructure strategy. Her work focuses on interpreting macroeconomic, geopolitical, and supply-demand dynamics to inform investment decisions and portfolio positioning.
She began her career at Goldman Sachs, developing a broad-based expertise across commodities, equities, and derivatives, and has over 15 years of experience in global markets.
Rebecca is a widely recognized voice in financial media, frequently appearing on CNBC, Bloomberg TV, Yahoo Finance, and BNN Bloomberg, and is regularly quoted in leading publications including The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, MarketWatch, and Bloomberg.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Boston College, where she was an All-American Division I skier.
Ana Arsov is Chief Investment Officer of her family office based in Connecticut, an independent board director for TD Bank Group, board member of Lumos Insurance, a multiline insurance company, and senior advisor and operating partner at HPS Investment partners (Blackrock). Prior to Bright Fame, Arsov was the co-head of financial institutions and head of private credit at Moody’s. In that role, she managed global credit teams responsible for the ratings and research for more than 2,000 financial institutions around the world and fostered analytical and issuer coverage for the growing private markets between financial institutions, leveraged finance, and securitization markets. Before Moody’s, Arsov held executive roles in credit risk management at UBS, Morgan Stanley and Lehman Brothers.

Ilka Gregory is a seasoned family office executive with deep expertise in building and leading high performing teams that steward complex wealth across generations. She brings a holistic approach to understanding families’ financial objectives and delivering integrated investment management, estate and tax planning, and comprehensive governance and compliance oversight.
Ilka currently serves as President of a seventh generation single family office based in New York City, where she oversees strategy, operations, and the full spectrum of family enterprise services. Previously, she launched and built the family office for the founder and senior executives of Digital Currency Group, establishing the infrastructure, investment processes, and governance frameworks from the ground up.
Her career spans senior leadership roles across premier investment institutions, including Head of Client Relationships at Truvvo Partners (now Lazard Family Office), Senior Wealth Advisor at Bessemer Trust, Managing Director at Third Avenue Management, and Vice President at Protégé Partners. Ilka began her career on Wall Street as a Private Wealth Adviser at Goldman Sachs and, prior to business school, worked as a technology consultant.
Ilka holds an MBA from Vanderbilt University and a BBA from Baylor University. She serves on the Executive Investment Committee for Baylor University’s $2 billion endowment and advises Rondeivu and Fiat Ventures. She is also the cofounder of WiFO—Women in Family Office—an international peer network of more than 100 senior female executives leading single family offices around the world.
Paul Edelman: With nearly four decades of experience as a coach, consultant, and facilitator, Paul advises executives, family businesses, family offices, and the professional advisors who serve them. Drawing on deep expertise in individual, team, organizational, and family dynamics, he helps clients address complex challenges, make consequential decisions, and achieve meaningful, lasting outcomes.
His work focuses on building leadership capacity, facilitating planning and decision-making, resolving conflict, navigating transitions in leadership, ownership, and wealth, and creating structures and processes that support long-term growth for individuals, businesses, and families.
Prior to establishing his consulting practice, Paul served as an internal organization development consultant at AT&T, worked as an executive search consultant, and was Vice President of a successful technology startup. He also brings firsthand experience as an angel investor, board chair, and advisory board member, providing clients with practical insight grounded in real-world leadership and governance.
Raised on Long Island in Levittown and Garden City, where he worked in his family’s business, Paul developed an early appreciation for the opportunities and complexities of family enterprises. He is an active alumnus of MIT, Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and Harvard Kennedy School.
Chris Heller is a Co-Founder and Co-Managing Partner of $1.9 billion Cordillera Investment Partners. He is responsible for directing Cordillera’s overarching investment strategy alongside his co-founders. He also serves as a director of Cordillera portfolio companies.
Prior to founding Cordillera, Chris was a Partner at Makena Capital Management where he served as the Portfolio Manager for the Makena Liquid Endowment Funds and was a senior member of the firm’s Absolute Return investment team and Investment Committee. Prior to Makena, Chris worked at the Stanford Management Company in a variety of investment roles. He started his career at Merrill Lynch in debt capital markets and investment banking.
Chris earned a BA in Economics from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Sophia Mullen is President of EnTrust Global and serves on its Board and Management Committee. She drives corporate strategy, growth, partnerships, and investment initiatives across asset classes and industries while overseeing business operations and team development.
Prior to joining the firm in 2013, Sophia was an attorney in the Corporate Reorganization practice at Sidley Austin LLP.

Kimberly Smith is the Chief Capital Formation Officer of Andalusian Credit Partners. She has more than 20 years of experience in capital raising, relationship management, and marketing and communications.
In her current role, Kimberly oversees Andalusian’s fundraising and investor relations efforts. She is responsible for developing the firm’s fund formation strategy, executing initiatives to attract capital, and cultivating and managing relationships with institutional and high-net-worth investors globally. Kimberly also spearheads Andalusian’s communications strategy, enhancing the firm’s visibility and brand among investors, borrowers, and other audiences.
Previously, Kimberly served as the Chief Capital Formation Officer at Techstars, where she led the strategy and execution of fundraising, deal sourcing, and investor relations activities for the global network of entrepreneurs and mentors.
Before joining Techstars, Kimberly was a Partner and Director of Marketing and Investor Relations at Owl Creek Investment Management, where she managed communication and relationships with existing and prospective investors and oversaw the firm’s branding and marketing initiatives. She has also held roles at Davidson Kempner Capital Management and ABN AMRO Bank.
Kimberly serves as an Honorary Trustee of the Ethical Culture Fieldston School after completing a five-year term as Chair of the Board. She is also a trustee of the Bridge Golf Foundation and Group for the East End, and serves on the advisory board of MeshEd, an EdTech company based in New York.
Kimberly holds an M.B.A. from Fordham University and a B.A. from Middlebury College.
Jon Schwartz is a partner and head of sports at Prosek Partners. He was previously senior vice president, communications, marketing, digital and social media for the Big Ten Conference and senior vice president, communications and public affairs for the NFL – where he led the League’s strategic communications efforts.
Prior to the NFL, Schwartz led integrated marketing communications at NASCAR – which was named PRWeek’s In-House Team of the Year in 2015. He also held senior in-house communications roles at Bank of America, MasterCard Worldwide, and a consumer-packaged goods company – all deeply invested in sports sponsorships.
Earlier in his career, Schwartz worked in the XFL, Arena Football League and at Taylor – where he serviced blue-chip clients like MasterCard, Reebok and Castrol. In 2012, he was named to PRWeek’s Forty Under 40 list and was PRNews’ Corporate Social Responsibility Leader of the Year.
While earning a Journalism degree at the University of Maryland, Schwartz worked at the Pittsburgh Penguins, Washington Capitals and in the American Hockey League as a team PR Director. He currently sits on the board for the Shirley Povich Center for Sports Journalism at University of Maryland, is an adjunct professor at NYU and serves as chairman of the American Special Hockey Association

Jeffay Chang is a Senior Director, Regional Fiduciary Wealth Manager leading BNY Wealth’s fiduciary team throughout the Northeast region. Jeffay is responsible for the management and administration of client trust relationships and collaborates with local and regional wealth management teams on existing and prospective investment management and fiduciary relationships for individuals, charitable and family office clients. Jeffay is also responsible for implementing strategic national fiduciary priorities in coordination with regional fiduciary needs.
Jeffay joined the firm in 2025 and has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. His previous experience includes serving as a Senior Trust, Estate and Fiduciary Strategist at Capital Group Private Client Services for three years. Senior Vice President and National Trust Advisor Team Lead at City National Bank for six years and Senior Trust Strategist and Team Lead at the Goldman Sachs Trust Company for over 12 years. Prior to that he has held different advisory roles at UBS and US Trust Company.
Jeffay frequently presents on topics relating to tax, fiduciary, estate planning and administration at industry and client conferences and has authored a number of articles. On a personal note, Jeffay, along with his wife and three boys are avid tennis players and enjoy all types of racquet sports.
Jared Feldman, CPA, is a Partner and the Practice Leader of the Firm’s Private Client Group. He specializes in providing a wide array of accounting, tax and advisory services for family offices, financial service executives, real estate developers, entertainment professionals, busy owners of privately held companies and wealthy individuals. He focuses on the accounting, tax, and business issues his clients face, including the ever-changing tax and regulatory landscape, estate planning, philanthropic and next generation planning, and business consulting.
Prior to joining the Private Client Group, Jared spent 11 years in Anchin’s audit and accounting department in addition to one year performing mergers and acquisitions advisory services to middle market companies.
Jared acts as a personal CFO to a broad range of clients. For both single- and multi-family offices, Jared and the Anchin team of seasoned professionals handle day-to-day functions such as bill payment services, tax reporting and payroll, as well as long-term tax planning and personal and business accounting issues. Working with other professionals as well as partners within the Firm, Jared provides seamless service in the areas of philanthropic gifting strategies, wealth transfer to future generations, internal control reviews and risk management. Jared co-hosted Anchin’s Women’s Financial Forum, a full-day conference for high net worth women, and Anchin’s Next Generation Financial Boot Camp, focused on the education of young adults of high net worth families.
Anchin’s Private Client Group develops long-term relationships and often operates as a member of the family office or management team. Jared works well with the client’s existing team of investment, legal and insurance advisors to provide the best combination of service and advice in the marketplace, resulting in fewer worries, better decisions and ultimately, greater overall advice.
Scott Weaver: As General Counsel and Chief Fiduciary Officer, Scott participates in the overall management of the firm, serves on the Wyoming Board of Managers, and advises the firm on legal matters. Scott also serves as Chief Fiduciary Officer for Pathstone and Chair of the Willow Street Trust Company of Wyoming, LLC Trust Committee. Scott is a thought partner to client families and their advisors as well as internal Willow Street teams, and serves as a director and committee member for client private family trust companies.
Prior to joining Willow Street in 2018, Scott was a private client attorney at Geittmann Larson Swift, LLP and its predecessors, where he focused on tax, business, and estate planning. He writes and speaks regularly on fiduciary and wealth transfer planning topics and has collaborated on Wyoming legislative enhancements, including providing testimony to the Wyoming legislature. Scott was a founding Director of the Wyoming Trust Association and continues to serve on the WTA Legislative Committee. He holds the Trust & Estates Practitioner (TEP) designation from the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP).
Scott earned a BA in Mathematical Economics from Colorado College and a JD from the University of Colorado Law School. Scott is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys fly angling, skiing, and cycling throughout the Mountain West.
Frazer Rice is the Director of Family Office Services for Next Capital Management, LLC. He is responsible for developing the firm’s Family Office Services offering and implementing it for select clients. Frazer has spent a more than twenty-year career advising high net worth clients and families around wealth management, estate planning and fiduciary issues. Most recently, he was the Regional Director for Pendleton Square Trust, building their presence in the Northeast and advising clients and advisers around fiduciary issues. He spent 16 years at Wilmington Trust advising high net worth clients and family offices, rising to the level of Managing Director in the firm’s New York office. Frazer has written the book Wealth, Actually: Intelligent Decision-Making for the 1% and produces the successful “Wealth Actually” Podcast. He appears on a variety of media and industry panels to discuss wealth management practice, trusts and estates, family dynamics issues, and tax policy. He is the President of the New York City Estate Planning Council and is Co-Head of its Programming Committee. He received his B.A. in Political Science and History from Duke University and his J.D. from Emory University School of Law. Frazer lives in Manhattan and enjoys golf, travel, horror movies, media production and writing.

He serves as President of the New York City Estate Planning Council, holds a B.A. from Duke University and a J.D. from Emory, and lives in Manhattan.
Michael Fisch of American Securities began his career on Wall Street in the Mergers & Acquisitions group at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in 1983 and also worked at Bain & Company in 1986 before entering private equity in 1987. In 1993, he became a financial advisor to the William Rosenwald Family whose father Julius Rosenwald, built Sears, Roebuck & Company into the dominant U.S. retailer in the early 1900s.
In 1994, Michael founded the modern American Securities (with the Rosenwald Family and Charles D. Klein), and has served as CEO since its inception. Under his leadership, the firm grew over 3 decades into a leading middle-market US private equity firm.
Michael served and serves on numerous corporate and nonprofit boards. He has been a member since 2011 of the President’s Leadership Council of Dartmouth College, where he received a BA in Economics and Policy Studies in 1983 and has been a guest lecturer for more than 20 years at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business (“GSB”), where he received an MBA in 1987. He is a regular speaker on private equity, governance, and economic policy. He is also Chair of the Freedom and Prosperity Center Advisory Council at the Atlantic Council and a Trustee of Northwell Health where he Chairs the Governance Committee.
He is very active in not-for-profits, with a focus on healthcare, economic policy, and religion/spirituality, as well as food security initiatives in New York City. Outside of his professional work, he is a devoted father of four, Ironman triathlete, and art enthusiast.
Charlie Federman is a Partner with SilverTech Ventures, an early-stage technology firm with an emphasis on Israeli companies with a presence in New York. He previously served as a partner in BRM, and led its US activities. Before joining BRM, Charlie spent 15 years (culminating as Chairman) with the M&A boutique, Broadview, where he advised on more than 100 acquisitions of software/Internet companies. Charlie earned his BA in economics from The Wharton School.
Jay Leek is a Managing Partner and Founder of SYN Ventures and ClearSky Security. Mr. Leek was formerly the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to The Blackstone Group L.P. (NYSE: BX) (“Blackstone”) — where he also shared responsibility for identifying, structuring, evaluating, executing, and overseeing Blackstone Innovations’ portfolio of information security investments.
Prior to joining Blackstone in 2012, Mr. Leek established, built and headed up global information risk and security programs for Equifax and Nokia. Throughout the past 23+ years, Mr. Leek has also worked as a product manager for information security vendors as well as a consultant to numerous telecom companies, government agencies, and financial institutions, assisting them with business development, strategic planning and architectural design required to meet their information risk and security objectives.
Mr. Leek holds a B.S. from Capella University in information assurance and security, and is a Certified Information Security Manager, Certified Information Systems Security Professional and Certified Information Systems Auditor.
Jeffrey Smith: As an Investor and CEO, Jeffrey Smith has delivered four decades of exceptional, acquisition driven growth and returns in the AI, environmental engineering, energy, and defense sectors. Leveraging 40+ strategic, cross border transactions in 20 countries, he has led highly successful exits at SVI ASIA, Praim Technologies SpA, Gensym (NASDAQ: GNSM) and Flight LanData. Before joining SIP Capital, Jeffrey co-founded two deep tech software companies with industry visionaries from Xerox Park, Apple, Lockheed Martin and Red Storm Entertainment. Jeffrey holds an AB in Economics from Brown University.
